This agreement between Authors Direct ("us", "we", "our") and yourself ("user", "you") applies to your use of the Authors Direct mobile applications and web services ("the Service"). By registering and using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these terms. We retain the right to change or modify this agreement at any time, and your continued use of the Services constitutes ongoing agreement to the current terms which are available here at https://authors-direct.com/tos/ .
You must make an Authors Direct account to access app content, including to receive access to free promotional content and content samples. Authors Direct reserves the right to delete your account as a last resort if it is determined that you are in any way abusing the Service.
Authors Direct does not support in app purchasing at this time. In order to purchase content to listen to via Authors Direct, you must have purchased an audiobook via an Authors Direct enabled store, and such purchases will be subject to the terms and conditions posted on such store.
Authors Direct or stores with Authors Direct enabled may offer free or discounted promotional titles to users. Purchased titles are yours to keep, but Authors Direct retains the right to remove free titles from your library at the end of the promotional period.
Our goal with Authors Direct is to build as large a catalog as possible with a wide range of titles for a variety of people. Publishers will occasionally add and remove titles from the Authors Direct catalog, but we promise to continue to support the titles you've already paid for.
Offering a title for sale does not mean that we endorse the content, writer, or opinions expressed, and you as the reader acknowledge that you may be exposed to content that you find inaccurate, offensive, indecent, or objectionable. At the time of writing, we've opted not to incorporate any DRM protections. However, should we enact them in the future, you agree not to remove, circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any DRM protections or other security-related features. You also agree to not attempt to reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to recreate or discover the underlying code of the Authors Direct app.
You further agree to respect the intellectual property rights of authors, publishers, and Authors Direct. You will not make derivative copies and/or resell the works you've purchased. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless against any losses, expenses, costs or damages in any manner related to any claim or legal action based upon your use or misuse of Authors Direct.
You also agree that these terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and waive all right to trial by jury in any action related to use of the Service. You also submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Ohio or the United States of America located in Cuyahoga County, the State of Ohio, for any legal proceedings related to this agreement.
